Sheepo — Australia's Original Herding Ball
55cm size — built for Kelpies, Border Collies, Cattle Dogs and other working breeds with energy to burn.
$139.95
Give the herding instinct somewhere to go
Your dog wants to work. Push, chase, nudge, control — it's wired in, and if it doesn't get an outlet, it comes out somewhere else. Digging. Barking. Wrecking the yard.
Sheepo gives that drive a job. No sheep required — just a big, tough ball your dog can herd around the backyard for hours, burning off energy and using their brain at the same time.
Built for dogs that don't hold back
- 60cm inner ball — premium PVC rubber, made to take a beating
- 55cm outer cover — heavy-duty 2520 Denier Oxford nylon
- Double zipper for extra strength
- Turquoise colour — blue/green tones are easiest on a dog's eyes, keeping play calm rather than overstimulating
- Hand pump included — everything you need is in the box, no separate purchase required
- Spare parts always in stock — inner ball, outer cover and valves, sold separately
No wrinkles in the fabric means nothing for your dog to grab onto and chew through. Tighter construction, longer life.
The only herding ball with spare parts in stock
Most herding balls on the market are one-and-done — get a puncture or a busted valve, and it's straight in the bin. Not Sheepo.
We keep inner balls, outer covers and valves in stock, so if something wears out or your dog gets a bit too enthusiastic, you're not throwing out the whole thing. Order the part you need and keep the game going.

What's in the box
- Inner ball
- Outer cover
- Inflation valves
- Hand pump
- Step-by-step instructions
Tip: the last bit of inflation takes a bit of muscle — that's the tough PVC doing its job. An electric pump works too if you'd rather skip the arm workout.
Which size does your dog need?
Sheepo is our middle size, and the right pick for most herding breeds. If you've got a smaller or particularly powerful dog, we've also got:
- Poddy (45cm) — suited to smaller breeds
- Jumbuck (65cm) — big, strong dogs who'll flatten a smaller ball
Too small and it becomes a chew toy. Too big and your dog can't get it moving. Sheepo's 55cm hits the sweet spot for most Kelpies, Border Collies, Cattle Dogs and Shepherds.

Getting started
- Find an open, safe space.
- Let your dog sniff it out first — no pressure.
- Give it a gentle nudge yourself, then encourage your dog to do the same.
- Keep the first few sessions short. Most dogs are herding pros within a few goes.
- Always supervise play, especially early on.
Looking after your Sheepo
- Check the seams and cover regularly for wear
- Wipe down or hose off after outdoor play
- Let some air out if it's not being used for a while, so the cover isn't left stretched tight

Treat it like the training tool it is
Sheepo isn't a cheap backyard ball — it's an investment in keeping your dog's mind and body busy, and looked after properly, it'll earn its keep for a long time.
Heat is the main thing to watch. Warm conditions cause the air inside to expand, which puts extra strain on the seams and can shorten the life of your ball. Keep it out of direct sun, and if it's sitting unused for a while (or the weather's warming up), let a bit of air out to take the pressure off.

Our dogs absolutely loved this ball, but sadly it started deflating within half an hour of using.. the tiniest prickle (maybe a thistle) had gone through the outer layer and caused the inner ball to deflate. I have just ordered a replacement inner ball, but if that one doesn’t last long again, then I reckon we can’t use it in our house paddock then and it’s just not tough enough for farm life.
A repair kit would also be great, as the normal bike tyre repair kit doesn’t work on this material.
Had a few hiccups at the start with inflating it. I thought I might of been sent the wrong size cover, but the inner ball just becomes really hard to pump up when it gets to a certain point. The communication with Drovers was AMAZING! They’re response to my email was almost instant. The inner ball will continue to expand to the size of the cover, but you’ll need some muscle! I’d recommend an electric pump. Apart from that, the little rubber tag on the zipper broke when zipping it up, but it didn’t seem necessary anyway. The metal zip was enough and was easy to remove afterwards. Still given 5 stars due to the design and durable quality of the ball itself. Happy with the purchase and would recommend this product to anyone. Being Australian made is an added bonus! Thanks Drovers!
Your Sheepo ball is great quality. I was hoping that our Kelpie would love it but she’s more interested in herding the Labrador – trying to retrieve the Sheepo!
Maybe some time alone with her Sheepo?
Thank you so much. This is the best toy ever. How crazy kekpie is totally obsessed with it. It is the best way to entertain her both physically and mentally.
I ordered the Sheepo Herding ball for my youngish dog. It was easy to pump up, the outer material is really durable. Best of all Izzy loves it!!!
